[T.E. Motorworks, Inc.]
T.E. Motorworks is a multi-medium development,
prototyping, and fabrication shop in the Port Richmond section
of Philadelphia that is owned and operated by Vin Marshall.
At various times, the shop has been a place to do freelance
computer programming, make decorative and architectural metalwork, build
one-off vehicle parts,
and produce independent video. The shop is named after TE Lawrence, one
of the last of the well educated swashbucklers.
Metal work is done in steel, aluminum, copper, and the copper alloys. The capabilities
offered include:
- MIG, TIG welding
- Gas welding, brazing, and silver soldering
- Sheet metal shearing, bending, and some forming
- Forging and wrought iron work
- Tube and pipe bending (up to 2" O.D. in house)
- Some machining capabilities. Vendor relationships with full service machine shops to
fill all other machining needs
- Embedded control systems designed, programmed, and
incorporated into projects
- Design and engineering of projects to customer
requirements.
Silicon work is done in hardware and software. The capabilities include:
- C/C++, C#, Java, Perl, and Ruby on Rails development
by contract
- Embedded controller circuit and software development for Microchip PIC
and Ubicom SX microcontrollers
- Integration of metal work projects with embedded control circuitry
